What is the difference between 9mm Luger, 9mm 9x19 and 9mm Parabellum?
You can use them all.
9X19 describes the cartridge by its diameter and length.
9mm Luger describes the cartridge by its inventor Georg Luger.
9mm Parabellum describes the cartridge by its purpose 9mm for war.
Do NOT use 9x18, 9mm short (which is just .380 ACP), 9mm Largo, or 9x21. There also are other 9mm cartridges, which are not the same. These include the 9mm Action Express, 9mm Bayard Long, 9mm Browning Long, 9mm Centerfire , 9mm Makarov, 9mm Ultra, 9mm Winchester Magnum, and 9mm Kurz (380 ACP) just to name a few.
